I have personally planned my own wedding, so I absolutely understand the levels of stress and budgeting required to pull off such a momentous day!
I justify my prices with my portfolio, with my reviews by many previous clients, with my personal time, and my focus on achieving the best painting possible for each one of my clients.

THE PROCESS:
Painting at the end of the night…
Live paintings will see me arrive, set up, attend the wedding, and begin my work during the cocktail hour. I am typically on site for an average of 6 hours, allowing me to achieve a roughly completed painting to present by the end of the evening!
Painting after touch ups…
Most of the magic will come from touch ups and refinement at my studio, where I will get time to sit down and focus in on details to complete the painting for your collection (I will typically require a minimum of 8 weeks total to complete the art, including drying time and varnishing)
On-site with the wedding couple…
My process will typically conclude a few hours before the reception wraps up. Guests are welcome to watch me work, chat, or just stroll by to see the progress throughout the night! My favorite moment is getting to show the couple my work.
Lots of details were omitted on the night of the painting - and this couple had wanted a very dynamic image with many aspects included. There would never be enough time to focus in on so many details in one sitting alone! I very much emphasize that to have a unique, refined, and memorable painting, it’s important for the artist to utilize much more studio time after your ceremony to really bring the painting to life.
Painting at the end of the night versus touch ups. Much of the final painting is blocked in and nearing completion, but you will see many of the details and final touches are rendered in the studio following the wedding! Refinement at home also allows me to put additional details into portraits, which I would consider the MOST important part of any of my paintings. It’s important for me that I am able to capture your likeness in the final product.
From a wedding in Milwaukee, WI at Turner Hall. The couple requested the venue be a prominent aspect of the painting. Touch ups were crucial to ensure every detail was captured, including more focus on the stage set up and dress detailing.
Another example of the conclusion of the wedding night compared to final touch ups. This was my first live wedding painting I had ever completed and I hold all my art to this standard!
This was a lovely wedding in the West Loop of Chicago - but the initial painting didn’t capture the space I had initially envisioned. This was a large warehouse-style space with lots of exposed brick, windows, and tons of light. Touch ups allowed me to focus more on the light coming from the glass ceiling and help create a more dynamic contrast in the final piece.
