My name is John Kates, I am a local Chicago artist who specializes in oil painting to capture any moment. Originally from Minnesota, my art has developed over many years through perseverance, attention to detail, and a passion to better myself with each new piece.

My focus on live wedding paintings has become a passion in the past few years, and I am eager to continue to grow as an artist. I work primarily out of Chicago, but have also completed paintings in the suburbs and as far as Milwaukee and Indianapolis.
